Homegrown Songwriters More Jammin’ at the Nashville Palace

James Breedwell’s Songwriter Open Mic Series at the Nashville Palace always has a terrific show, but none could be better than the recent showcase of Homegrown Songwriters from Our Sweet Home Alabama.
HostJames Breedwell
Host, James Breedwell
These performing songwriters can be seen most any Wednesday in Huntsville at the Coffee Tree Songwriter Open Mic, but when put together in a showcase, you’ve got a great mix of music covering good old-fashioned country, country rock, pop, blues, Americana … bound to be something to tickle your fancy!
MaryJustice2 MaryJustice, 14 year-old, award-winning songwriter,  performs at the Palace with the Nashville Spotlight hosted by Mike Jennings. MaryJustice recently brought home awards in singing and acting from a week of competition at the iPOP! 2010 Convention in Los Angeles.

"Not That Far" written by MaryJustice. Performed by MaryJustice and Doug Budzak.

Ken Cooper and his lovely wife, Jennifer. Ken's talent is certainly demonstrated in these videos. His songwriting  runs the gamut from teen love songs to rockabilly and country. He can sing a hymn that will bring tears and then break out into a Hank Williams honky-tonk sound.

Uncle Bethel

Uncle Bethel, a singer/songwriter team, features Lisa Car and Doug Budzak on vocals and all instruments.

The pair, formerly billed as VOODOO CHILI, decided it was time for a change when they began writing songs for the Nashville market. The name, "Strong & Beautiful" was considered for a time, but when the question "Which of us is going to be Beautiful?" couldn't be settled, they decided on UNCLE BETHEL, in honor of a favorite uncle of Lisa's from Silver Point, TN, because: (a) they thought it sounded cool & (b) it wasn't already taken. Lisa and Doug write their own songs and have collaborated with other writers. Lisa and Doug also own and operate the Rockit Juice Audio recording studio. Through their music, they hope to be noticed as performing songwriters, make an obscene amount of money and retire to the lake!

But, in the mean time ....

COME ONE, COME ALL!

Uncle Bethel is mixing things up with some contemporary holiday tunes blended with great originals and even some fun honky-tonk music!

Special guests Ken Cooper

Keninwoods

and MaryJustice

add to the good times, so don't miss it!
